    its the weekend?

    Friday, September 5, 2008, 03:16 PM [General]

Really?  I can't believe it's friday.  Talk about a short work week!  Monday was a holiday, and I was being tortured by a dentist on Tuesday.  Yet strangely, I'm SO ready to get out of here and have a nice cocktail somewhere quiet and dark!

If you're staying in tonight, here's something you might want to check out:

I'm totally into all of the political hoopla that's going on.  Feel free to blame it on me being a crazy, hotheaded Aquarius.  Whatever.  That's fine.  Anyways... I've got a plethora of links that I've been sending to friends.  Most of them crack me up, some are serious.  If you've got an interest, try going HERE, HERE and HERE.  And if you like Jon Stewart, you must go HERE.  And there there's this little one HERE.  And beware... I'm a little blue dot in this big red state, so if ye be offended by such things, don't click on the links!

And finally, one last thing for you to check out tonight (or in a rerun sometime).  (Thanks to Jezebel.com!)

The season premiere of DogTown, a National Geographic Channel show that follows rescued dogs at the largest no-kill animal facility in the U.S. by the same name, will have an extra-special focus tonight: The pit bulls rescued from Atlanta Falcons quarterback and kennel/dog fight ring operator, Michael Vick. The episode focuses 4 of the 50 dogs that were rescued from Vick's compound, some of which have a great fear of humans, intense scarring, and physical illnesses due to abuse. The show follows the dogs' healing process and underscores the fact that pit bulls are affectionate when not in the hands of psychotic boneheads.

    end the suffrage!

    Thursday, August 28, 2008, 02:49 PM [General]

i saw this video posted on someone's blog earlier today.... and since we're in the middle of the democratic national convention (barack accepts the nomination tonight!) it seemed appropriate to post it.  enjoy.  oh, and if you don't know the definition of the word "suffrage", might i suggest dicionary.com before you watch?  ;)

    is it over yet?

    Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 03:31 PM [General]

i came in early this morning to get some time-sensitive work done.  and now... the day is dragging!!! holy hell, is this what its like for all of the 9 to 5 people?  this sucks!

tomorrow night i'm going to be watching barack obama accept the democratic nomination.  i was talking to a friend about it, and she asked why my significant other (aka "the boy") isn't going.  i said "cause he didn't wanna".  it's just not his idea of a good time.  then she tells me that her sister didn't want to go either, and when i asked why, the conversation looked like this:

friend: she thinks she might be a republican :-/
    me: oh christ

honestly, it was the funniest exchange i've had all day.  made me laugh out loud.

    do it for the mutts!

    Saturday, August 23, 2008, 08:04 PM [General]

i'm going to be doing the spca's mutt strut this year, along with a few other people from the station.  it'll be a first for me, but i LOVE dogs, so this should be fun.  and since it's a fundraiser, i've gotta throw out the URL for the website i created for it.  check it out HERE (and see the pics of me with my babies, sebastian and gretchen) and donate if you're able.
