    Interesting Happening with the Dome

Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 11:36 AM CST [General]

    To industry friends and colleagues:

Today's Chronicle features an article by Maggie Galehouse about a project we've partnered with to convert the Astrodome into a major production studio http://www.chron. com/disp/ story.mpl/ life/main/ 5792766.html . A feasibility study regarding the building's potential as such is already underway.  Also underway, is an engineering feasibility study regarding the Dome's structural state.  If the results of both of these studies are positive, we will proceed full speed ahead. Some impressive folks want to help us make this happen.

Meanwhile, if you are willing, please go to the above article on-line and post comments in support of this concept. Wouldn't it be wonderful to work full time in our industry in your hometown? Wouldn't it be wonderful to get Houston back into the feature film business? Also, there is an on-line pe****ion to sign that supports the concept of converting the Dome into a production studio, go to www.houstonaep. org.

This project is not intended to take work away from production studios here already.  This project is to attract large-scale projects that are bigger than what Houston sound stages can currently accommodate.

    Thanks for your support!
    Elise Hendrix and Cynthia Neely

Yeah, I am not seeing too much action via these groups, but thought I would try it.

Didn't plan too. I was going to do it a couple of years ago, but we decided not to. I really don't have anyone lined up right now to even work with.
