    I'll be like a kid in a candy store this weekend. The giggly perversions begin tommorow night. As it's down the road from home, I might stop by Sam's Boat in Willowbrook to have some crawfish with Rod. Come to think of it, that would be a killer start to the weekend. Then, pick up some female company and head down to Rocbar. First Friday of the month; Monthly Mayhem; Catholic Schoolgirl theme; an army of skimply dressed females drinking. Who am I to complain?

    For those of us who have some fanciful artwork embedded into our flesh, our annual congregation is coming to town this weekend. With much help from Texas Body Art and many other sponsors, the first annual Inkfest is going on from Friday until Sunday. Everything is happening at Sheraton North hotel near the airport. Contests, demonstrations, seminars, bands, prizes, etc, all weekend.

    Flashdance - metallized!

    So every now and again, a band will take a big risk on a cover with a good chance it will blow up in their face making them look retarded. Or it will prove to be truly awesome. This is an example of the latter.

    So I jumped on iTunes Tuesday to get the new album from one of my favorite bands - Firewind; a melodic rock/power metal outfit from Greece who is massive in Europe, but still building their name here in the states. Out of nowhere, they do a cover of the song "Maniac" from the Flashdance soundtrack (a very young, taut Jenniffer Beals running in place with legwarmers and headbanging. Remember?) Safe to say, it blew me away. A truly ballsy attempt that turned out brilliant.

    Just for comparisons, here's both versions. Enjoy:

    I had a bunch of Canadian dollars I needed to exchange, so I went to
    the Currency exchange window at the local bank. Short line. Just one
    lady in front of me. . .an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen
    for dollars and she was a little irritated . . .
    She asked the teller, "Why it change?? Yesterday, I get two hunat
